Hard Truths
It is always good to “hear” from Father God. Any time we sense Him speaking it is a good thing to give heed to what He says. Holy Spirit resides in us to enable us to know what the Father is speaking to us, so that we don’t miss communicating with Him. We read His words in the Bible, we listen to messages, we attend Bible studies, etc. hoping that in these opportunities we might be more likely to hear Him speak. Our best opportunity to hear is in the consistent, day by day time alone with Him in His Word.
I’ve discovered that I don’t like “hard” truths----those truths that are convicting and challenging. I much prefer to hear about how much He loves me, cares for me, and helps me. When He calls me to repentance, or speaks words of correction I’m not nearly as receptive. I tend to turn away.
Everything Father God speaks is ultimately for my good and His glory. I ask Him to make me receptive to the “hard” truths He speaks. I cannot be all that He desires without them.
