First Step

    From the message Sunday we learned about the amazing faithfulness of Father God.  He cannot be less than faithful, and He demonstrates His faithfulness in a number of ways.  He is faithful to give us direction in life.  We are never left to try to figure out a next step in life on our own.  Father God gave Elijah specific direction about where to go to experience His provision during the drought.  Elijah did so.  Next Father God gave direction to go to Zarephath where a widow would be the Father’s provision in his life.  Again Elijah did so.  Every direction from Father God was the precise provision for Elijah.

   I believe that Father God has given me a direction for our family at this time.  He has directed me to resign as pastor at First Baptist.  I have done so.  I do not have the next step, or any steps from here.  I must take that first step then trust Him for the next step.  I have been at this place before.  I don’t always like the not knowing of what is next, but He has always been faithful to get me to His next.  His next is worth the wait.

   I don’t know yet when my exact end date will be as pastor, but we have a few weeks left in this process.  Hopefully we can celebrate the joys of life we have shared together, and anticipate what Father God will do in my family, and in His church family in the days to come.
