Upside Down
We live in an extraordinary time. Our world is enduring some difficulties that most of us have never experienced before. For us it seems like the worst of times. Our nation is divided along many lines. We are engaged in a struggle with a virus that in which we seem to have no clear understanding of exactly what to do. Around the world there are weather related issues, and political disruptions. In our country it seems that we have lost our way, and moving in a wrong direction at a rapid pace. As bad as it seems we have not reached the depravity of the days of Noah, and hopefully we never will.
If not for our hope in Jesus we would really not have much reason for going on from day to day. Our hope is not only that He can handle all of these difficulties, but that He will do something in the midst of the craziness in which we live. He does some of His best work in the direst of circumstances.
He often uses His people to accomplish His plans. We want to be usable to Him as He works. Instead of getting caught up in all the hoopla, we want to be totally available to Him, at His beck and call. We are those soldiers who do not entangle ourselves in the affairs of everyday life. (2 Tim. 2:4). We are the Jesus followers of Acts 17, the men who have turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). Truthfully our world is upside down, we get to turn it rightside up. Let us press on with Jesus and watch Him prevail.
