Initiating Gospel Conversations

Oftentimes the most difficult part of conversations about Christ are starting them. Here are some practical ways to begin those conversations. These are helpful for either random strangers or friends.

1.   How Can I Pray for You?

2.   Can I Share Something with You I’ve Heard at Church?

3.   How Do You Find Hope in this World?

4.   What Do You Believe about Jesus?

5.   What’s Your Religious or Spiritual Background?

6.   How Do You Deal with the Difficulties of this Life?

7.   What Do You Think about the Bible?

As you read these, you’re probably thinking that these cut straight to the chase and there’s nothing smooth about this. Remember, there is no better way to start an intentional conversation than to ask an intentional question. Here are some encouragements as you consider initiating conversations.

1.   Address the Awkwardness (It Will Get Less Awkward)

2.   Ask Questions

3.   Be Intentional to Get to Know People

4.   Look for Avenues to Address Spiritual Things

5.   When You Talk about You, Talk about the Lord

6.   Don’t Just Hear, Listen to People

7. Remember that this Doesn’t Have to Be the Only Conversation

The best way to learn how to share the message about Christ is to start sharing. The best way to start sharing is to get into a good rhythm of initiating. We can’t have conversations if we don’t start them!

Love you church,
