Access

Access is a wonderful gift.  As a pastor I am often granted access to places where others are not allowed.  I’ve gotten into prisons and jails for visits.  I’ve had access to restricted areas in hospitals.  I’ve gotten into nursing homes, assisted living centers, workplaces, etc. just because I am a pastor.  I’ve pretty much taken that access for granted – until now.

Life with Covid has brought a lot of restrictions of that access in almost every situation in life and I am having to learn how to function without access – a new “normal” that I haven’t achieved yet.  Limited access had helped me to appreciate the fact that Father God grants me unlimited access whenever I am willing to come into His presence.  Day after day, all day long, regardless of what goes on in my world, He is available and accessible.  I don’t have to wear a mask, maintain distance, limit contact, or use hand sanitizer.

I will “draw near with confidence to the throne of grace.” (Heb. 4:16)  In His presence there is fullness of joy.
