Genuine Worship

In Genesis 42, we see the reunion of Joseph and his brothers.

In a moment of intensity, we see that there is a lot weighing on Joseph’s mind and heart.

In Matthew 5:23-24, Jesus teaches about the importance of reconciliation, stating that if we remember a brother has something against us, we should leave our gift at the altar and be reconciled first.

This underscores how our relationships with others are intertwined with our relationship with God. Imagine arriving at church, weighed down by unresolved conflict.

God calls us to prioritize mending those broken relationships, illustrating that genuine worship cannot happen in the shadows of anger and division.

As we reflect on our relationships with God and with others, may our love for both be genuine.

Genuine worship of God happens when two key things happen: Truth is proclaimed and unconditional love is expressed.

Picture a heart that overflows with affection, where love is not merely said but lived out daily.

This mirrors authentic worship, which is more than a Sunday gathering—it's a life lived in devotion to God.

Just as love will drive a partner to serve and care for their spouse, genuine worship empowers us to serve others and honor God throughout our lives.
